Visiting Parliament

I always enjoy meeting with school children from Burnley and Padiham on their visits to Parliament. Tours of Parliament are free for all school children aged 5-18. Visiting schools have the opportunity to have a full tour of parliament including both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, as well as an opportunity to participate in an interactive activity workshop at the Parliamentary Education Centre where students can learn about the history of parliament, how it works and what Members of Parliament like myself do.

Visiting schools can also apply for a transport subsidy that covers some of the cost of travel from Burnley and Padiham to Westminster (see:

Places are now available for tours and workshops in the Education Centre for the Summer term (April – July 2017). Bookings can be made on 13 January by calling 020 7219 4496 where the lines will be open from 8am - 5.15pm.

As your Member of Parliament I am always happy to organise a tour of Parliament for when you visit London. The tours are free and consist of a tour of Westminster Hall, the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the Royal Gallery (subject to parliamentary business on the day). To book a tour please get in touch with my parliamentary assistant Sam Goodman by emailing him at with the preferred dates and time of your visit (please book as early as possible to avoid any disappointment over dates).

Prime Ministers Questions Tickets

Prime Ministers Questions is often the highlight of the parliamentary week. As a Member of Parliament I am allocated two PMQ tickets every few months, which are available for any constituents to go and watch PMQs from the visitors’ gallery. Similarly if you are visiting on a Wednesday and want to see PMQs if you get in touch with my office we will try our best to get you tickets. To book PMQ tickets please get in touch with my parliamentary assistant Sam Goodman by emailing him at with the date of your trip and the number of tickets you may need (please be aware that there are a limited number and we may only be able to get 2 or 3 at the most).
