The Fight to Save Pike Hill Post Office Goes On

The Post Office at Pike Hill serves the communities of Cliviger, Worsthorne, Hurstwood and parts of rural Brunshaw and they cannot manage without out it. The Post Office authority is trying to present the proposed closure as a relocation. It is nothing of the sort and I will be opposing it every step of the way. The suggested alternative on Brunshaw Avenue is two buses away for many and of course the elderly and disabled would be worse affected. I will of course be responding fully to the formal consultation process. On Thursday I met with senior post office representatives on site. I presented a petition signed by hundreds of residents who oppose the closure and I made it plain that we will fight this plan all the way.Pike_Hill_Post_Office.jpg
