Julie Cooper, Labour's Prospective Parliamentary candidate is the newest member of the Burnley Credit Union. Julie Cooper attended the Annual General meeting of the Credit Union and was welcomed by Chairman, Peter Pike and Paul Fletcher from Burnley Footballl Club. Julie said: "In these diffcult economic times it is important that local people have some where to turn. The Credit Union encourages regular saving and provides low cost loans to members and I am delighted to be part of this organisation that offers a fair deal and stops Burnley people being at the mercy of `loan sharks.

After the formal business of the meeting was concluded, Paul Fletcher Burnley Football Club's Chief Executive, gave an entertaining talk. Julie Cooper said, "As a regular supporter of the Clarets I was particularly pleased to get the chance to meet Paul Fletcher."
